HEY.

Yeah I know. It’s been a while. I haven’t been updating for several reasons and it will remain sporadic for a while. The biggest reason is because spring is here and I’m trying to eat healthy and exercise, and that is nearly impossible to do when you go out to eat all the time. Eating healthy is pretty boring. No one wants to see my whole grain bread with turkey sandwich pictures everyday. I realize this is not exactly “food slutty” of me, but being a food slut comes with slutsequences. Like growing a tire around your waist. Or running out of breath walking up one flight of stairs. That doesn’t mean i’m completely devoid of eating out which brings me to reason number DOS. I haven’t been bringing out my camera as much. I take pictures with a digital SLR and it’s big. and heavy. and annoying to carry around. I find myself leaving it at home on the rare occasions I do eat somewhere new on the off chance I might end up carrying it around with me all night. Also, I don’t own a smaller, more convenient digital point and shoot. So yeah. Actually I did make one feeble attempt to make a new post for this new sushi restaurant I tried, but the service was so terrible I decided i’d rather just not write about it than give it any kind of undeserving promotion on my website.

Things will be slow, but they will not stop. Summer is a comin and that means BBQ SEASON! Keep your eyes peeled for new reviews and recipes. In the meantime I will continue to post random interesting crap about food related stuff you might find interesting I find on the internet. Damn that was one helluva run on sentence. I’ll also try brush up on my grammar. Don’t forget to follow me on TWITTER so you won’t miss any of these updates!

P.S. – I feel lately as though I need some kind of signing off catch phrase. Like…. Until next time, PEAS out everybody! HAH no. (maybe). Anyone have any good sign off catch phrases for me? Lemme know!

As i’m sure you all know, Haiti was hit with a 7.0 magnitute earthquake yesterday. They’re expecting the death toll to be 100,000+. Hospitals have been destroyed and due to the overwhelming amount of people injured, hospitals do not have the supplies or the manpower to treat everyone. Thousands are dying from not being treated by this alone.

This is a pretty serious situation so I thought I’d take a minute to ask whoever reads this to donate even a little to help this country out of crises. I’ve done some research and there are several ways you can help.

Text “Haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross towards this relief. Your monthly statement will be charged $10 one time. I did this one. It is legitimate.

I’m not really big a “resolution” type of person because I feel like if you really wanted to make a change, you should do it whenever and not just on a specific day. BUT I suppose it does symbolize the end of one chapter and the beginning of another so I have some things in mind on what changes I wanna make for myself for the New Year. I want to thank everyone who follow this small little blog and make it worthwhile for me to post new entries. I love you all!

I wish everyone a safe and wonderful New Year! Lets hope 2010 brings lots of luck and joy to everyone. =) I hope it does for me!

And I also wish good eats for all!!!!!!!!!

Despite all the negative press she had gotten in her life, I have always liked her and enjoyed her movies. So tragic to die so young and beautiful. In honor of her passing and in lieu of all the ramen i’ve been eating lately, i’m going to download and watch one of her last films today, The Ramen Girl, regardless of how bad this movie looks. Rest in Peace Brittany.

Tis not a good year for celebrities.

Traditionally, Thanksgiving day meals comprise of the following main components: turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and string beans. This year, my mom decided she didn’t want to cook dinner, so I offered to handle dinner all by myself. Now by no means am I a good cook, but i’d like to think i’m decent enough to follow a recipe and it comes out alright. Since dinner was for 3 this year instead of the usual family gathering, I decided to roast a chicken instead of a turkey, and stick with the basics. I googled “best roast chicken recipe” and came across Emeril Lagasse’ recipe, which sounded pretty good and simple so I went for it. Peep the recipe after the jump.

I know. I really suck with updating this thing. I haven’t been doing anything exciting food wise lately since i’ve been trying to save money and keep relatively healthy. I also got a new camera that i’m trying to get used to. I’m also thinking of going video for future updates since my new camera has video feature! We’ll see.
